HOUSTON – As part of the SH 288/ Brazoria County Expressway Project, Brazoria County will be closing all mainlanes of both SH 288 at FM 518 and FM 518 at SH 288 in all directions this weekend. Crews will be demolishing a section of the SH 288 bridge over FM 518 in the Pearland area.
There will be a total closure of the SH 288 mainlanes at FM 518 in both directions beginning Friday, January 11 at 9 p.m. until Saturday, January 12 at 9 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to the SH 288 frontage roads to re-enter the mainlanes
Also, FM 518 at SH 288 will be closed in both directions beginning Friday, January 11 at 9 p.m. until Monday, January 14 at 5 a.m. Traffic will detoured to the frontage roads and u-turn to reach their destinations. Detour signs will be available to guide motorists.
Motorists should expect delays and may want to consider an alternate route. Police officers will be onsite to assist with traffic control. For more information on scheduled lane closures in the Houston District contact Danny Perez at (713) 802-5077.
