CenterPoint Energy Donates Generator to HCOHSEM to Enhance Resilience Throughout the Region

Harris County, Texas — CenterPoint Energy, Inc. donated a generator to the Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HCOHSEM) as part of the CenterPoint Energy Foundation’s Community Generator Donation Program. The program aims to help provide support for critical community partners during major weather events or other emergencies. By investing in backup power for essential community organizations, CenterPoint Energy is helping ensure that critical operations can continue even when disaster strikes.

“We are grateful for our partnership with CenterPoint Energy and for their generous donation,” said Harris County Emergency Management Coordinator Mark Sloan. “We look forward to continuing to work closely together and being equipped with assets such as this will help to enhance our preparedness and resilience.”

The Community Generator Donation Program is part of CenterPoint's Greater Houston Resiliency Initiative. More than 20 generators will be placed at key community sites across CenterPoint’s 12-county Greater Houston region, funded through a $5 million grant from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation, at no cost to customers.
