Initial Report: Crown Ranch Road Wildfire

(Harris County, TX) -- Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HCOHSEM) has moved to Level 2 (High Readiness) in response to the Crown Ranch Rd. fire that is affecting Montgomery, Grimes and Waller Counties.  HCOHSEM, Harris County Fire Marshal's Office and the Harris County Sheriff's Office are monitoring this incident and are ready to assist local response agencies should the fire move into Harris County.

Waller County has evacuated residents east of Field Store Rd., north to the Grimes County line, east to the Montgomery County line and south to Harris County.

The Grimes County Sheriff's Office has set up a command post at the Texas Renaissance Festival.

Relief centers have been set up at Magnolia High School, at 14350 FM 1488 and at the Magnolia Community Center, 422 Melton.

Level 2 High Readiness means hazardous or dangerous conditions exist or are imminent and pose a significant threat to life/property. High readiness requires multiple operational periods and numerous agencies to support a response from the Emergency Operations Center.
