Heavy Rainfall Possible Through Thursday
The
National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Harris County tonight through Thursday morning. Tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will move into southeast Texas overnight and trigger periods of heavy rainfall along the coast and in Harris County. Some areas may see two to four inches of rain, and isolated higher amounts that could lead to rapid street flooding.
The Harris County Office of Homeland Security (HCOHSEM) is monitoring the tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Invest 91-L is located in the Bay of Campeche, chance of development into a storm has diminished since yesterday.

People should bring their pets inside and delay travel or outdoor activities during periods of heavy rainfall. If travel is unavoidable, reduce your speed to avoid hydroplaning. If a Flash Flood Warning is issued for your area, DO NOT TRAVEL.
DRIVE SAFELY
- If you must travel, never drive into high water and use extreme caution at underpasses and low-lying areas where water accumulates.
- Always remember to Turn Around, Don’t Drown! DO NOT DRIVE through high water and DO NOT DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES.
- Just two feet of water can sweep your vehicle away.
Existe la posibilidad de fuertes lluvias hasta el jueves
La oficina del
Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (NWS, por sus siglas en inglés) emitió un aviso de inundaciones repentinas comenzando durante esta noche y hasta el jueves por la mañana. La humedad tropical del Golfo de México entrará al sureste de Texas durante la madrugada iniciando periodos de fuertes lluvias sobre la costa y el Condado Harris. Algunas áreas podrían ver de dos a cuatro pulgadas de lluvia, y cantidades mayores en lugares aislados, y esto podría causar inundaciones repentinas.
La oficina de seguridad y manejo de emergencias del Condado Harris (HCOHSEM, por sus siglas en inglés) está monitoreando el disturbio tropical en el Golfo de México. Según el NWS, Invest 91-L está ubicada en la Bahía de Campeche y las posibilidades de que se desarrolle a una tormenta tropical han disminuido desde ayer.
Lo que debes hacer:
HCOHSEM exhorta a los residentes a monitorear de cerca el clima hasta el jueves. Inscríbase para recibir alertas en

Las personas deben de traer a sus mascotas adentro y retrasar los viajes o las actividades al aire libre durante tiempos de fuertes lluvias. Si tiene que viajar, reduzca la velocidad de su auto para evitar el acuaplaneo. Si se emite una advertencia de inundaciones repentinas para su área,

CONDUZCA CON PRECAUCIÓN - Si tiene que viajar, nunca conduzca en lugares inundados y tenga mucho cuidado en los pasos subterráneos y áreas bajas donde se acumula agua.
- ¡Recuerde regrésese y no se ahogue! NO CONDUZCA en aguas altas y NO CONDUZCA ALREDEDOR DE BARRICADAS.
- Tan solo dos pies de agua pueden barrer su vehículo.
